Christmas at the North Pole
Jane Doe - 5th Grade - Alaska
Snowflakes painted the sky white, as we bundled up in our warmest coat, scarf, and mittens. Today was the most exciting day of the year in the North Pole. It was the Christmas Workshop Festival!
Me and my best friend Luna, ran through the icy streets, our boots crunching through the fresh snow. All around us, elves were busy setting up booths filled with hand-painted ornaments, Christmas cookies, and holiday crafts. Luna’s eyes sparkled when she saw the gingerbread house decorating station.
“Let’s make the biggest one!” she said, grabbing my hand and pulling me over to the table. We spent the next hour creating a gingerbread mansion complete with gumdrop windows and a licorice door. The sweet smell filled the air, and we even got to eat a few pieces along the way.
As we finished up, a loud cheer rose from the crowd. Luna gasped and grabbed my arm. “Look, it’s Santa!” she screamed. Sure enough, Santa stood in the middle of the town square, waving to all the elves and families. His sleigh, loaded with presents, sparkled under the Christmas lights. Reindeer pranced around him, their antlers decorated with jingle bells.
Luna and I rushed to the front of the crowd, eager to hear Santa speak. “Ho, ho, ho!” Santa’s voice boomed joyfully. “Merry Christmas to each and every one of you! This year, let’s remember to share kindness and joy. That’s the best gift of all!”
Luna grinned and looked at me. We exchanged a nod, silently promising to spread kindness wherever we could.
After Santa’s speech, everyone sang Christmas carols together, our voices echoing through the snowy streets. Luna’s heart felt full as he sang, surrounded by the magic of Christmas at the North Pole. She knew this was a Christmas she would never forget.
